This is super long, but if you love us you will read it because let’s be honest, it’s not like I have written on this thing lately!
This year has been a crazy one! Jonathan and I found out that we were pregnant in August, and we are expecting a little boy April 28th. But let’s rewind a little…
Last summer we both worked A LOT to save up for Jonathan’s internship in Seattle where he would not be getting paid. He worked full time washing windows for a company all over Eastern Idaho, and I continued working in Island Park. We managed to save a lot so that we could afford to live in Seattle and not be too stressed. The summer seemed to be really difficult though.
I would be gone six days of the week. Jonathan would leave at seven in the morning or earlier. I would wake up, make his lunch and help him get out the door. It was a hard time. We never saw each other. It kind of has been a theme in our marriage. We have been really busy and never able to do stuff with other couples very often. I was always gone at work. Jon’s friends would always joke with me when they would see me and say, “Celeste your alive!” I would laugh, but it was sad for me that I was never able to have a lot of fun, but I should not complain because we have been able to stay out of debt and not stress about money, which is a real blessing.
Seattle was a whole different picture though. I stayed behind a month while Jon went to Seattle. I just found out I was pregnant, and I was SICK. It was the longest month of my life without Jonathan. I was miserable. When I arrived to Seattle, and saw him when I got off the plane it was one of the most exciting moments of my marriage! I was SO excited to see him. I needed him to take care of me so bad. He was the only one that knew I was pregnant, and I needed him to help me.
The next three months in Seattle were crazy. I threw up everyday. I did not work and just stayed in bed for hours, and if you know me that was really hard for me. Jon would get home around three everyday and we would go and find something to eat. We ate out everyday! It was so not like us, but there was no way I was going to cook. Jonathan ate so much Pho at the local Vietnamese restaurant that the owner really liked him and talked to him all the time. We went to numerous restaurants all over the Seattle area. It was seriously what we did everyday, except for Sundays. Sundays a really cute older couple had us for dinner all the time. The Pickets were so good to us. They really treated us great.
Whenever we move it takes me a lot longer than Jonathan to make friends. It seems like he gets to know everyone in the first week. When I arrived in Seattle when Jon had been there for only a month, the first Sunday a friend shared his testimony and said how Jonathan had blessed him and his home and has changed him for the better. Jonathan is always doing that no matter where he goes. He seriously has an amazing gift. I just go along for the ride!
Well I finally stopped throwing up the last week before we left Seattle. We were excited to get back to Idaho where we could sleep on a real bed instead of an air mattress and we could start working again because our money had run very dry.
Now Christmas has come and gone. We are back working A LOT. It is going to be a crazy few months getting ready for a little boy, but this time work doesn’t seem to bother me quite as much because I am looking forward to having this boy and I know I don’t have to be doing this for much longer.
I am getting huge! At least I think so… but if you ask my mom or sister Sarah I have always had a tummy! I am starting to like being pregnant, and I love feeling him move inside of me. Even though I am always a nervous wreck about eating right, exercising and reading too many things about labor, my excitement still out weighs it.
I hope you all have had a great year, and make this year even better! We are so excited and can’t wait to meet our son! Happy New Year!
