Jon's Background

Jonathan is from Boston, Massachusetts. His father, mother and brother came from the Dominican Republic to the United States before Jonathan was born. When he was young his parents divorced after many times separating. Jonathan's father now lives in the Dominican Republic. Jonathan's amazing mother raised her two sons on her own.
When Jonathan was eight years old, he and his brother and mother were baptized in the LDS church. Very soon after, they stopped going to church.
Jonathan was a rascal when he was young. He has told me many stories about how tough he thought he was. After going to Boston and having him show me where he has lived, I realized that he had to be tough.
When he was 14 years old, Jonathan was invited to a Stake church dance. When he decided to go, he realized that the church and the surroundings were really familiar. They found out that he had been baptized. Jonathan kept going to church after that, and he has never stopped.
He has been a great example to everyone around him. Many boys from Boston came and was active in church because of Jonathan. They all looked up to him. He was the greatest example to them. He was his high school's quarterback and was great at basketball. He was even his Senior Prom King. Everyone loved Jonathan. He was simply a good kid and everyone knew it.
He was also a great example to his family. He is constantly talking to his mom and brother about the church and always prays for them. (If you look up CHAIN REACTION in the New Era, it is all about Jonathan's story)
Jonathan came to BYU-Idaho which is no small thing. It was amazing that he left that place in Boston and went to college. He was the first from his stake to come here. Now there are so many from his stake that are attending BYU-Idaho. Jonathan lead the way.
There have been numerous people tell me about how amazing Jonathan is. I always feel assured that I really got a great catch!
Jonathan served his mission in Brazil and many of the youth in Boston followed him and served a mission as well.
It was just the other day we were coming home from a movie that Jonathan got a call from an old friend in Boston that recently came back to church and got really serious on the phone and thanked Jonathan for always being a great example to him. He told him that if it was not for Jonathan he would be lost.
Jonathan has proved to be an amazing example and an amazing husband. I am so blessed. I know that Jonathan could not be a better man for me.
